Ryan fegarty
4 Years in Aquatics + Swimming Instrctor & Lifeguard
Hi, I’m Ryan, a Grade 12 student graduating from St. Brother André Catholic High School. I’ve been swimming since I was very young, and that passion has grown into meaningful leadership opportunities. I began working as an assistant swim instructor in 2023, and since 2024 I have been working as a certified swim instructor and lifeguard. Through these roles, I’ve developed strong communication, leadership, and mentoring skills while helping swimmers build confidence and improve their abilities.
In addition, for the past three summers I have worked as a coach with Playball, where I taught children ages 3–7 the fundamentals of soccer in a fun and supportive environment. Working with young children in both swimming and sports has been incredibly rewarding and has strengthened my passion for teaching and mentorship.
These experiences have inspired me to pursue Kinesiology at York University, where I hope to continue developing the skills needed to become a teacher and positively impact future students.
Sean Fegarty

Hi, I’m Sean, I am a highschool student who has been living in York Region my whole life. I’ve been swimming longer than I can remember and started teaching swimming lessons myself in 2025. After getting my instructors’ certification, I found a real passion for teaching and love helping children grow in the water. I have plenty of experience working with kids of all backgrounds, including those with disabilities and ESL learners
Outside the pool, I'm an active member of the Air Cadets, manager of my high school's student council, and enjoy volunteering at my local church with the youth group and AV team. In my spare time, I love going on runs, playing guitar, and listening to music.
